The 2013 vintage of Seyval Blanc, one of the first vines planted at CCV 20 years about, took home Silver in the White Varietal Category while the 2014 vintage of Zusa, a newer blend for CCV and only the second vintage we have produced, won Bronze in the White Blend Category. The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest competition of American Wines in the World, is considered to be the "Super Bowl" of wine judging, The winners of the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC) were announced on Friday, after receiving a record 7,162 entries this year - the highest number of wine entries to date. For four days, 65 judges from around the nation and world met in Sonoma County to deliberate and choose the best wines from the entries.

Submissions came in from across the country, from the smaller, independent winemakers and boutique wineries to the large scale producers. Owner and winemaker, Eric Seifarth, was well pleased with the competition's results. This past August 2015 marked twenty years of wine growing at Crane Creek in Towns County.

"As always, the vintage starts in the vineyard," Seifarth claims. "Many of our vines have reached peak maturity and are producing fruit of complex and intricate flavors which lend themselves to production of standout wines. I am excited to see how our wines and other Georgia wines perform in the upcoming years. Without a doubt, we are moving into a new era of winegrowing in the North East Mountains of Georgia."
