The Vineyard:

Harvest has begun and the race is on! At the vineyard we always anticipate the harvest season with an equal measure of excitement and dread.

Will the weather hold? Will we get enough pickers? Will we have the right tank space at the right time? Will all the fermentations go smoothly?

Every year it is the same concerns and the same challenges. But, with efforts of the entire CCV team we always seem to make it to the other side…

The fruit looks really good this year and I am hoping for an above average harvest in both quality and quantity. At this writing the weather is a bit wet and gloomy and forecasted rain events are driving pick dates so far this year.

A bumper crop of Gruner Veltliner this year promises our fist single varietal bottling of that grape. I am very excited about that. If you have not tried this wonderful Austrian wine you are in for a treat (in about 10 months +/-)

In The Winery:

Despite two major expansions of the winery in the last ten years, we are still facing an overcrowding issue. So… a third expansion is in the near future, thanks to you our customers and your continued support.
